Egypt Receives 15 New Railway Wagons from Hungary
The Minister of Transport announced on Friday the arrival of a new batch of railway passenger wagons, with a total of 15 air-conditioned third wagons coming to Alexandria port from Hungary.
This brings the total that has been supplied since the beginning of the signing of the deal with the Russian-Hungarian alliance to 770 wagons (499 dynamic ventilation wagons + 271 third-class air-conditioned wagons After that, the rest of the vehicles will arrive in batches according to the specified schedule.
The Minister of Transport pointed out that the deal contributes to raising the efficiency of daily operation and the regularity of operating schedules, and that the new vehicles that arrive are entered into service according to the daily operating schedule of the railway to maintain the continuity of providing distinguished services to the public passengers.
The deal comes within the framework of the agreement concluded between the Ministry of Transport, represented by the Railways Authority, and the Hungarian company MAV for the manufacture and supply of the rest of the remaining wagons out of the total of 1,300 railcars deal.
