Egypt seeks Emirati partners for major investments in its transport sector: Wazir
El-Wazir made these statements to the Emirates News Agency (WAM) on the sidelines of his participation in the Middle East Rail 2023 Exhibition and Conference in Abu Dhabi.
The transport minister explained that Egypt is offering investment opportunities in developing 2,250km of railway lines, upgrading metro and railways locomotives, as well as developing electric trains.
Trade exchange between Egypt and the UAE increased by 6.5 percent to reach $4.6 billion during the first 11 months of 2022, according to the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics.
Meanwhile, Emirati investments in the country surged 300 percent to reach $5.7 billion in FY2021/2022, up from $1.4 billion in FY2020/2021.
