Egypt Can Become A Hub For Sustainable Aviation Fuel Production
US companies participating in the Sustainable Aviation Fuel Workshop have identified Egypt as a promising candidate for establishing a sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) hub in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, Egypt's local newspaper, Ahram Online, reported.
Strong demand for SAF
SAF is a type of biofuel specifically designed to power aircraft. It possesses similar properties to conventional jet fuel but with a significantly reduced carbon footprint. As the aviation industry has committed to achieving carbon neutrality by 2050, SAF has emerged as a solution to encourage decarbonizing the aviation sector.
