Fifth edition of Big 5 Construct Egypt exhibition opens in Cairo
The event is hosting 11 international pavilions from Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Italy, Germany, Greece, Turkey, China, Uzbekistan, Spain and Russia.
Egyptian Minister of Trade and Industry Ahmed Samir inaugurated the exhibition, saying it is testament to Egypt’s position as a regional hub for the manufacture and export of construction material for Arab and African countries.
Egypt exported construction material worth $7 billion in 2022 and $3.225 billion in the first five months of 2023, Samir said.
As one of the country’s most important production and export sectors, the construction material sector has the leverage of the availability of ingredients and high-quality raw materials, specialised labour, and high production capacity, he added.
These advantages allow Egypt to provide for its local economy and establish many national projects, Samir noted.
