EgyptAir operates its first direct flight from Cairo to Manchester

EgyptAir will now operate 20 weekly flights to the UK, including 14 flights to London and 5 to Manchester.

The airline also operates direct flights from Luxor to London’s Heathrow Airport.

Minister of Civil Aviation Mohamed Abbas, British Ambassador to Egypt Sir Gareth Bayley, and other officials were on board the Boeing 737-800 aircraft’s flight from Cairo to Manchester.

Minister Abbas said that operating direct flights to Manchester proves the strong ties between Egypt and the UK.

He also noted that EgyptAir has operated flights to London's Heathrow Airport since 1970 and that the number of flights between the two cities has increased significantly in recent years.

The civil aviation minister added that EgyptAir was committed to expanding its network and operating more direct flights to new destinations worldwide. He highlighted that the airline recently operated several new routes, including Dhaka - Cairo and Newark - Cairo.

Abbas also stated that EgyptAir will soon operate new direct flights between Cairo and Delhi.
