Belarus, Egypt discuss cooperation in manufacturing sector

The Belarusian-Egyptian working group on cooperation in industry met in Cairo to discuss ways of intensifying cooperation in the industrial sector, BelTA learned from the press service of the Industry Ministry.

On behalf of Belarus, the meeting was attended by Deputy Industry Minister Dmitry Kharitonchik, on behalf of Egypt – by Minister Plenipotentiary Mohamed El-Sayed, Head of the European Relations Sector at the Commercial Representation Authority, the Ministry of Trade and Industry.

"Such an event is a important event for Belarus as we will discuss a number of issues and outline ways for further mutually beneficial cooperation in the manufacturing sector," Dmitry Kharitonchik said. The deputy minister stressed that being the largest Arab country, Egypt remains the most important foreign trade partner of Belarus in Africa, and Belarus has always shown interest in developing industrial cooperation with Egypt.

Currently, the parties are implementing a number of joint projects in the manufacturing sector. At the same time, there are opportunities and prospects for expanding it. "The potential of bilateral cooperation between our countries is huge and we will be able to tap into it give the interest and reliable partnership ties,” Dmitry Kharitonchik noted.
