Egypt & Pakistan sign 7 MoUs at major business conference in Cairo

Egypt and Pakistan signed seven Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) for cooperation in various economic fields at the Pakistan-Egypt Business.

More than 150 delegates from various business sectors in Pakistan attended the conference, organized by the Embassy of Pakistan in Egypt in collaboration with the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI).


The event aims to enhance trade and investment ties between the two countries and coincides with the celebrations of the 75th Anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Egypt.


The conference was attended by the Head of Egyptian Commercial Services Yahya El-Wathik Bellah, high-ranking government officials, members of the diplomatic community, representatives of the Chambers of Commerce of Egypt, and several Egyptian businessmen. 


Mahmoud Esmat, Egypt's Minister for the Public Business Sector and chief guest of the event, commended business communities in Egypt and Pakistan for strengthening ties between the two countries.


For his part, Yahya El-Wathik Bellah highlighted that the two sides are eager to boost cooperation in various sectors, including agriculture, energy, housing, tourism, textile, and food.


He also stressed the need to create new avenues for investments. 


Ambassador of Pakistan to Egypt Sajid Bilal highlighted the Pakistani government’s efforts to attract foreign investment by forming the Special Investment Facilitation Council.


The ambassador also praised the role played by Pakistani and Egyptian companies in promoting commercial relations between the two countries.


The representatives of the RCCI briefed the audience on the role of the private sector and the RCCI in enhancing Pakistan’s trade with countries across the globe, noting that the presence of so many delegates from Pakistan’s business sector proves the importance the people of Pakistan attach to Egypt and Africa.


During the event, a number of Pakistani and Egyptian companies signed seven MoUutual cooperation in education, tourism, and food industries.
