Minister of Telecommunications, members of American Chamber of Commerce talk investment
Egyptian Minister of Telecommunications and Information Technology, Dr. Amr Talaat, held discussions about the investment opportunities available in the communications and information technology sector during a roundtable meeting with a number of officials from American companies.
The U.S. companies are specialized in the field of communications and information technology who are members of the American Chamber of Commerce, in the presence of Steve Lutes, Executive Director of the Egyptian Business Council, American and Vice President for Middle East Affairs at the American Chamber of Commerce, and Hisham Fahmy, CEO of the American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt.
During the meeting, Dr. Amr Talaat stressed the state’s keenness to create a supportive and attractive environment for foreign investment, pointing to the incentives provided to international companies operating in the communications and information technology sector, and the efforts made to build digital skills to provide young competencies that meet the needs of these companies, and to enhance their competitive capabilities in the field of communications and information technology in line with global technological developments.
Dr. Amr Talaat explained that the communications and information technology sector is considered to have the highest growth among the state’s sectors over the course of 5 consecutive years as a result of the implementation of a huge number of projects aimed at developing the communications and information technology industry, achieving the transformation into an integrated digital society, and localizing the electronics industry.
On their part, officials of companies operating in the Egyptian communications and information technology sector among those attending the meeting praised the business climate in Egypt.
