Egypt's banks set for four-day holiday to celebrate Moulid El-Nabi
Prophet Muhammad was born on the 12th day of Rabi Al-Awwal, the third month of the Islamic calendar, which falls this year on Wednesday, 27 September.
The Moulid is celebrated by Muslims worldwide. Traditional sweets are sold to mark the holiday.
On 13 September, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly said that Thursday, 28 September, will be an official holiday for the public and private sectors in celebration of the Moulid of 1445 AH.
