Finance Min.: 11 Million Egyptians Benefit from Recent Wage, Pension Hike

Mohamed Abdel Fattah, advisor to the Minister of Finance for Resource Affairs, revealed that all beneficiaries of President Sisi’s decisions will disburse these grants starting October.

He continued, during a call-in on Sada El Balad channel, that these decisions require parliamentary approval and the issuance of a law by the House of Representatives, and this will be the first topic to be discussed in order to adopt this package.

Abdel Fattah pointed out that this second social package for pensions in less than 6 months will improve the lives of citizens.

He pointed out that the political leadership and the Egyptian government feel the suffering of the citizen, and therefore these were comprehensive decisions that include many categories of the Egyptian people.

He added that there are 11 million pensioners will benefit from the 300-pound grant, at a total cost of 32 billion pounds.

He stressed that all job grades will benefit from these decisions and the exceptional grant will be disbursed, pointing out that raising the tax exemption limit to 45 thousand pounds will benefit public sector employees and the private sector.

He concluded that 21 million families benefit from the social protection decisions issued by President Sisi.
