Egypt-Switzerland trade rose 7.8% in 2022: Trade minister
Samir made his remarks during a meeting with Helene Budliger Artieda, Swiss state minister of economic affairs, at the trade ministry's headquarters in the New Administrative Capital.
Switzerland has invested $2.9 billion across 433 projects across Egypt, ranking 15th among countries, he noted.
Egypt is keen to boost cooperation with Switzerland in productive sectors to meet its needs and export to Africa within the framework of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
Egypt has a large number of opportunities for Swiss investors, he said, pointing to small and medium enterprises and projects in the green economy, in particular.
"Egypt aspires to attract Swiss investors to benefit from advantages including the large consumer market, low energy prices, and large incentive packages provided by the state for strategic projects," Samir said.
