Egypt created 50 universities in 9 years
In the past nine years, the Egyptian government has been working to diversify its higher education pathways. This effort has led to significant achievements including the establishment of new universities and the development of private universities. The number of operating private universities admitting students has approximately reached 30 private universities with a total of 237 faculties. This is a significant increase from the situation in 2014 when Egypt only had 23 private universities with a total of 132 faculties. In addition to private universities, the Egyptian government introduced the system of civil universities. This system includes international universities and those branching from government universities. So far, the total number of civil universities has reached 20 with a total of 99 faculties. The establishment of these universities is a testament to Egypt's commitment to enhancing the accessibility of quality education for its citizens. This action has been viewed positively as a step towards meeting the growing demand for higher education in the country. The establishment of these universities has also contributed to the development of a well-educated workforce which supports the nation's development. The push for expansion in the higher education sector also highlights the government's dedication to promote education as a means to drive national progress and innovation. The government's investment in higher education offers students a more diverse range of educational opportunities, which will lead to improved skill development and a better equipped workforce to address the challenges of the modern world.
