Egypt launches first factory for wearable mobile accessories in Africa, Middle East

The factory is a joint effort between the SCZONE and industrial developer China-Egypt TEDA Cooperation Zone, which was founded in 2008 by China's Tianjin TEDA Investment Holding Co.

The factory will produce accessories for the giant Chinese company Transsion Holdings, one of the six largest global companies in mobile phone manufacturing and accessories.

The company is also Africa’s largest in terms of market share in sales of mobile phones and their accessories.

The factory will manufacture accessories for Infinix, G-TiDE, Oraimo, itel Mobile as well as UniTronics products of Uni Group, the owner of the factory.

The factory will operate three production lines, each with a production capacity of 3,000 pieces a day, with a total investment of EGP 25 million.

The factory employs 65 Egyptian workers at present and aims to expand the number to 150 when production expands.
