Egypt's First Factory for Plasma Derivatives Will Be Built in NAC
Grifols Egypt for Plasma Derivatives, a joint venture between Egypt's National Service Projects Organization (NSPO) and global healthcare company Grifols, will establish the first factory for plasma derivatives in the New Administrative Capital, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.
Since 1909, Grifols has been considered the international leader in plasma derivatives and plasma-based medicines, with over 390 donation centres worldwide. Grifols Egypt for Plasma Derivatives, meanwhile, is the first Egyptian source member of the Plasma Protein Therapeutics Association. This global public-private alliance seeks to build and operate 20 plasma donation centres in Egypt, alongside manufacturing facilities with a processing capacity of 1 million litres of plasma per year.
The plan also includes the creation of a plasma warehouse, a testing laboratory and a Grifols Academy for professional development.
