Egypt introduces its first-ever 'Drive Thru' postal service
Egypt has taken a significant step in redefining customer convenience by opening its first “Drive Thru” post office in Nasr City. Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat inaugurated the unique facility as the pioneer branch of a new generation of drive-through post offices in the country. The post office is equipped with innovative systems and offers a wide range of services. It supports Digital Egypt services and integrated government, financial and postal services. Largely due to its contactless operation, customers can avail themselves of these services without leaving their vehicles. This establishment is the first of its kind in the country, as Talaat mentioned. The office provides government services in collaboration with other government agencies, such as notary offices and the traffic department. On top of this, it adds a new dimension in delivering better services to all citizens. It measures over 2000 square meters and includes seven windows that provide an array of services. These include government, financial, postal services and paying fines for traffic, utilities such as electricity, water, and gas. The office functions 24 hours from Saturday to Thursday and operates from two to nine pm on Fridays. Customer facilities include two ATM machines, the latest surveillance systems, fire, and theft alarms, and a UPS device. All in all, the drive-thru post office is a testament to Egypt's commitment to digital transformation and customer convenience.
