PM: State seeks magnifying benefit of tourism assets

Egypt's Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly emphasizes on the development of the tourism sector and the enhancement of relevant state assets.

During a recent visit to the Port Said governorate, the Egyptian Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly stressed on the government's interest to develop the national tourism sector. He inspected several projects situated in the governorate, focusing on how to reap maximum benefits from the state's tourism assets. One of the key sites visited was the Ekila tourist village, where he monitored the ongoing development works and praised the renovation efforts driven by the private sector. Walid Khalil, CEO of New Plan Development, the organization responsible for the village's development stated that they have invested a whopping EGP 350 million for the refurbishment of the village. These inputs are expected to significantly boost tourism services and create many new jobs, contributing positively to the economy and the overall social infrastructure of the region. The prime minister's visit and backing of such projects underline the government's strategic vision in magnifying the potentials of the national tourism sector but reinforces the importance of private sector participation in such major development projects.
