Ventile sets Egypt on a course to biodynamic farming
Ventile, a leading sustainable textile manufacturer, enters a crucial partnership with the Egyptian Biodynamic Association (EBDA) to set the course for sustainable agriculture in Egypt's Nile Delta region through biodynamic farming. Ventile and EBDA have identified two farms, Salsol Farm and Ramadan Kamel Farm, to transition from their traditional cotton farming methods to more sustainable, biodynamic agriculture practices. The core focus of this initiative is to promote the production of high-quality, ethically grown organic cotton adhering to regenerative farming principles. This partnership entails comprehensive training, regulatory guidance, and the provision of essential farming materials. It assists these farms in their transition towards biodynamic and regenerative farming methods that align with Ventile's commitment to environment-friendly sourcing. The pilot phase has seen EBDA's agricultural engineers conducting training workshops on biodynamic agricultural techniques, biodynamic fertilisation and pest control. Ventile's brand director, Daniel Odermatt, emphasized the importance of this program by reminding everyone that only a mere 0.04% of the worldwide cotton produced is classified as extra-long-staple organic.
