Intra-African Trade Fair 2023 kicks off in Egypt

IATF 2023 is a part of the African agenda and coincides with the finalization of the continent’s development plan until 2063, Minister Samir stated.

More than 1600 exhibitors from 75 countries are participating in the event, he added.

The African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) is organizing the event, in collaboration with the African Union (AU) and the Africa Continental Free Trade Area (AFCFTA) Secretariat. 

Furthermore, Samir noted that the IATF2023 will allow participants to exchange expertise and news on recent developments in African industry.

According to the African Development Bank Group (AFDB), $43 billion worth of trade and investment deals are expected to close at IATF 2023.

Egypt’s trade exchange with African countries grew by 1.2 percent to $5.82 billion during the first eight months of 2023 from $5.75 billion in the same period a year earlier, as per official data.
