MoU signed for Egypt to contribute to port development in Mauritania
The Egyptian Company for Maritime Transport (MARTRANS) and Mauritania's United Group for Development have entered a cooperation protocol to develop ports. The signing occurred on Wednesday and was attended by the Egyptian Minister of Transport with the initiative being geared towards transferring Egyptian maritime experience to Mauritania. This collaboration comes on the heels of the fifth edition of TransMEA, a notable event in the industry. The development is demonstrative of instructions issued by both the Egyptian and Mauritanian presidents during the latter's visit to Cairo in June. The areas of cooperation extend beyond port development to include trade, investment, and fish resources. The collaboration between Egypt and Mauritania in this venture will help both countries broaden their capacities in multiple sectors, showcasing Egypt's ability to export its expertise and Mauritania's openness to growth and development.
