Subsidiary of Egyptian energy TAQA Arabia opens first natural gas station in Tanzania
The new station will be operated under the Egyptian brand Master Gas, which is a subsidiary of TAQA Gas.
The new station is the first of its kind in Tanzania.
TAQA Dalbit plans to invest $12 million in opening a total of 12 natural gas fuel stations in the country.
Egyptian companies are directing huge investments into Tanzania, including mega infrastructure projects such as the $2.9 billion Julius Nyerere Hydropower Plant and Dam project which is being built by the Arab Contractors Company and Elsewedy Electric.
The Egypt-listed Elsewedy Electric is also building an industrial complex in the African country.
TAQA Arabia, a Cairo-based Qalaa Holdings subsidiary, serves over 1.7 million customers in 50 Egyptian cities with energy and utility services, including natural gas, electricity, renewable energy, petroleum products, and water.
It builds, runs, and maintains energy infrastructure, including gas transmission and distribution, in eight Egyptian governorates.
