TransIt, Bosch sign MoU on smart container control systems at Egyptian seaports
On Wednesday, November 8, 2023, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between TransIt and Bosch to explore the implementation of advanced container control and monitoring systems in Egyptian seaports. This initiative is part of the comprehensive national plan for digital transformation. TransIt is a company that is owned by the Ministry of Transport. In a related context, a meeting was held in March by President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi with top officials of the Egyptian Armed Forces, maritime experts and construction company representatives to discuss the progress of the Egyptian Ports Renovation Plan. The plan targets an infrastructure overhaul of several ports including Arish, Adabeya, Abou Qir, and Jarjoub. Key areas of development will focus on breakwater structures, container freight stations, quays, multipurpose stations, logistical zones, and tourist attractions. The President emphasized the strategic utility of Egypt's unique geographic position and urged the attendees to leverage it to generate added value.
