Egypt Adds Additional Fees on Cinemas, Theme Parks, and Railway Tickets

The Egyptian Ministry of Social Solidarity issued a resolution on Thursday to impose additional fees on cinemas, amusement parks, railway tickets, telegraph and telephone messages, and on every postal message, for a period of one month, starting Dec. 1, 2023.

The additional fees will be transferred to support civil society projects. The Ministry confirmed in its decision that the proceeds of the additional fees will be added to the account of the Support Fund for Associations and Non-Governmental Organizations.

The text of the Ministry of Social Solidarity’s decision comes as follows:

1- For every entry fee to cinemas and amusement parks.

2-For every second-class and first-class railway ticket.

3- For every telegram or telephone message.

4-For every mail.
