Egypt-Italy: green light for Maire Tecnimont's nitric acid and ammonium nitrate factory
The Egyptian chemical company Kima accepted the offer of the Italian company Maire Tecnimont for the construction of a nitric acid and ammonium nitrate plant, as part of the Kema 2 project.
The turnkey project includes a plant with a production capacity of 600 tons per day of nitric acid and 665 tons per day of ammonium nitrate (a pure fertilizer for industrial purposes), has a total value of $297 million (£1,6 billion and €245 million).
Kima's extraordinary general meeting “approved the final price for the project negotiated with Tecnimont representatives and the payment of the deposit,” reports a company note.
