In January, the EU imported twice as many Egyptian oranges as in the same month of 2023
This increase is mainly due to the increase in imports from Egypt. In January, the EU imported 45,281 tons of oranges from Egypt, i.e. 104.7% or 23,200 tons more than in the same month of last year and 138.1% or 26,300 tons more compared to the average of the 5 previous years.
Egypt increased its share by 15 points and now has an 87.6% share, displacing other countries such as Morocco this month.
