Tourist arrivals in Egypt grow by 5% in 1st 40 days of 2024
Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Ahmed Eissa stated Sunday that there was an increase in the number of tourists in the first 40 days of 2024 by five percent compared to the same period in 2023.
The minister underscored that despite the outbreak of the war in Gaza Strip in October, Egypt received 3.6 million in the fourth quarter of 2023. That is an eight-percent increase in comparison to the same period in 2022.
Minister Eissa stated in January that the country accomplished the highest number of tourist arrivals in 2023 and that is 14.906 million. The second highest figure took place in 2010 with 14.731 million visitors.
