Egypt GASC Pursues 50,000 Tonnes Raw Cane Sugar in Global Tender
Egypt's General Authority for Supply Commodities (GASC) has launched an international tender for acquiring 50,000 tonnes of raw cane sugar, signaling a strategic move to bolster its sugar reserves. This initiative, announced on March 4, underscores GASC's commitment to ensuring the stability of Egypt's sugar supply amid fluctuating global market conditions.
Strategic Tender Launch
The tender, set forth by GASC on behalf of the Holding Company For Food Industries, through the Egyptian Sugar and Integrated Industries Company (ESIIC), highlights a meticulous approach towards securing sugar supplies. GASC's decision to accept offers in both Egyptian pounds and U.S. dollars, payable at sight, reflects a flexible financial strategy aimed at attracting international bidders. The specified delivery window from April 15 to May 15 further indicates a critical period for replenishing national sugar reserves.
