Egypt parliament approves law to license tuk-tuks

The Egyptian House of Representatives approved a draft law amending the traffic law to increase license plate fees to LE600 instead of LE115, license tuk-tuks, create a new quadricycle vehicle to transport people, and establish new regulations for dealing with dilapidated and abandoned cars.

During a plenary session on Sunday, Representative Ali al-Assas reviewed the Defense Committee’s report on amendments to the traffic law.

He said that the Interior Ministry is working to implement an integrated electronic traffic system, through digital transformation in all service sectors and raising the level of traffic safety.
