Alexandria Port receives Russian ship with 100K tons of grains
According to informed sources, the ship flies the Panama flag and is 250 meters long, 44 meters wide and about 14 meters draft.
The Africa for Silos & Warehousing Company unloaded the ship’s cargo, which was carrying 100,000 tons of Russian wheat for several Egyptian companies.
The Alexandria Port Authority has undertaken several huge projects to dredge and deepen the shipping lane at depths of approximately 20 meters to accommodate this type of ship.
Work has been done to maintain and develop the berths in the ports of Alexandria and Daqahlia, in addition to the berths and specialized stations currently being constructed in accordance with international standards and environmental requirements.
Development is also in place regarding modernizing the port’s fleet of marine units, including tugs and pilot boats, to protect the environment.
