Egypt to increase industrial output by 20%: Trade Minister
During the Export Management Certification Program Event, Minister of Trade and Industry, Ahmed Samir, announced Egypt's strategy to increase its petroleum and non-petroleum exports to $145 billion annually over the next six years.
The government aims to achieve this by implementing several measures, including a 20 percent annual increase in industrial output and a goal of the green economy contributing at least 5 percent to the gross domestic product.
This ambitious strategy is expected to create 7 to 8 million job opportunities during the specified period.
Minister Samir emphasized that these initiatives reflect Egypt's strong commitment to augmenting the proportion of industrial production in the overall GDP, which will facilitate a significant growth in the volume of Egyptian exports.
It is important to note that the Export Management Certificate Program, organized by the Egypt Trade and Export Development Project and funded by USAID TRADE, is vital in enhancing Egypt's export capacities.
The program combines practical experiences and academic frameworks, collaborating with reputable training and research institutions, to develop skills specifically related to the export process.
Its primary aim is to improve the efficiency of workers in the export sector, with a particular focus on employees in small and medium-sized companies.
