Suez Canal Adjusts Licensing, Fines, and Service Fees for Boats
The Suez Canal Authority’s issued a circular on Tuesday amending fees for licenses, fines, and services for small boats in the canal, and all foreign and Egyptian customers were notified of the fee amendments.
The circular stated that licensing fees and fines for floating vessels were amended, as it was decided to amend the fees for felucca with oars at 80 Egyptian pounds and $150 for foreigners, and for boats it was amended to 250 pounds for locals and $250 for a foreign customer, as for tug boats, it was set at 350 pounds for locals and $300 for foreigners.
The floating crane fee has also been adjusted to $300 for a foreign customer and 350 pounds for an Egyptian.
Renewing a license to practice a craft or profession for 3 years was adjusted to $200 for a foreigner and 250 pounds for an Egyptian.
The fine for violating a suspension from work for units for one day was $300 for a foreigner and 250 pounds for an Egyptian. The fees for missing a service or practicing a profession included $150 for foreign units and 150 pounds for an Egyptian.
The authority announced an increase in pilotage and mooring fees on the authority's berths in both the Suez and Port Said.
