Orange and Huawei launch Huawei Cloud services in Egypt
range and Huawei have teamed up to launch Huawei Cloud services in Egypt.
Huawei Cloud will roll out an array of its cloud computing services in the country, including Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS) in partnership with Orange.
Orange and Huawei previously launched the Orange Business Cloud, a collaborative cloud computing offering for businesses in Egypt, in 2020.
This latest agreement is an extension of that launch, and customers will be able to access cloud computing services via the Huawei Cloud platform and Orange Business Cloud.
The launch comes shortly after Orange inaugurated its data center in the New Administrative Capital in Egypt, plans for which were first shared in 2020.
The new cloud services from Huawei will follow the regulations and standards governing cloud use in Egypt, including that of data sovereignty.
Hesham Mahran, chief business officer at Orange Egypt, said: "Orange's latest partnership with Huawei comes in line with the renewal of the current agreement between the two parties in providing Orange Business Cloud solutions, which has been a great success in the market where Orange Egypt was awarded the 'Best Regional Cloud Services Provider Award for 2022.'”
"Orange Solutions has proudly helped many government institutions, and international and local companies in their digital transformation journey and optimally employ and manage IT resources, which contributed to strengthening our position in the Egyptian market, as a leading provider of advanced and integrated technology services," Mahran added.
At the time of Orange and Huawei's 2020 agreement, Orange Business Cloud was set to be hosted in the telco's Alexandria data center which was simultaneously inaugurated. The company also has a data center in Cairo.
