EgyptAir, the national carrier of Egypt, is set to expand its Cairo-New Delhi service to daily flights, up from the current four flights per week. This enhancement comes as a result of the successful launch of the route last August and reflects the growing Egyptian-Indian relations at all levels.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Egypt last year, which further cemented the ties between the two nations, played a pivotal role in this expansion. Shortly after his visit, EgyptAir inaugurated its first direct flight from Cairo to New Delhi, marking a significant milestone in travel and cultural exchange between Egypt and India.

“Since the launch of the direct flight last year, we have witnessed a notable increase in travel, business, and cultural exchanges between Egypt and India. This move to daily flights is set to further augment these ties,” said Amr Aly, Country Manager, EgyptAir.

The Cairo-Delhi route is operated by the state-of-the-art Airbus A320neo aircraft. EgyptAir’s fleet includes eight A320neos, with an average age of just 1.8 years, ensuring a modern and efficient travel experience. Additionally, the airline’s fleet boasts six Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, with two more expected in the coming years. The new A320neo aircraft are designed to reduce fuel consumption by approximately 20 percent compared to previous generation aircraft. Furthermore, EgyptAir’s current fleet significantly reduces emissions by 60 percent, underscoring the airline’s commitment to sustainability and environmentally responsible operations.
