Egypt to Launch Electronic Platform for Medical Tourism

The Ministry of Health and Population in Egypt recently chaired a significant meeting of the Supreme Committee for Medical Tourism to discuss recommendations and preparations for launching Egypt’s first electronic platform for health tourism, Wego reports. Representatives from relevant ministries and authorities attended the session held at the Ministry’s headquarters in the New Administrative Capital.


Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the Ministry’s spokesperson, highlighted the committee’s fruitful efforts and presented a preliminary concept of the electronic platform, including registration procedures and service offerings for medical tourists.


The platform, set to launch soon, is geared towards facilitating medical treatments and hospitalization for tourists. Its establishment signifies a milestone in Egypt’s healthcare infrastructure.


The inclusive platform will encompass accredited hospitals, health facilities, and medical centers, reflecting a collaborative effort between the government and private sectors. Cooperation protocols with various countries were also discussed, signaling Egypt’s intent to bolster its status as a prime health tourism destination.
