Finance Min.: Value of Goods Released from Egyptian Ports Amounted to $17 Billion
The Egyptian Minister of Finance Mohamed Maait confirmed the continuation of work with all state agencies on the immediate customs release of basic goods and production requirements, bringing the total value of the goods released since the beginning of April until now to $17 billion.
This came as the government aims to increase the volume of commodity supply in the markets, in a way that helps achieve balance in prices.
Maait added that there is continuous coordination between customs and representatives of the concerned authorities to speed up procedures for the immediate release of goods and merchandise at various ports, taking into account that priority is given to basic commodities, food, medicines, feed, and production requirements.
