Value of Egyptian agri exports increases by $600 mln YoY

Citrus fruits were the leading export commodity, with shipments exceeding two million tons.

Egypt's agricultural exports witnessed an increase in value by $600 million year-on-year to approximately $2.69 billion in the first half of 2024. The volume of these exports also saw a rise, reaching over 4.90 million tons, which is an increase of 300,000 tons compared to the same period in the previous year. This data was provided by the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation.


Citrus fruits were the leading export commodity, with shipments exceeding two million tons. Following citrus, fresh potatoes were the second most exported item, with over 930,000 tons shipped. Onions ranked third with around 131,000 tons, while beans, encompassing both fresh and dried varieties, were fourth with 84,000 tons of exports. Grapes and sweet potatoes followed, with shipments totaling 72,000 tons and 64,000 tons respectively, placing them fifth and sixth in the ranking of Egypt's agricultural exports.
