EasyJet resumes flights to Egypt’s historic “open-air museum”
Luxor in Egypt, often described as the "world's largest open-air museum", is now more accessible than ever. This UNESCO World Heritage Site, known for its majestic temples, historic Valley of the Kings and iconic stone sculptures, will benefit from easyJet's new direct flights from London Gatwick Airport. After being suspended more than a decade ago, these flights will resume on 11 November 2024. Flights will operate every Monday and Tuesday throughout the winter season.
Flights depart London Gatwick at 9:05am and arrive in Luxor at 4:25am. Return flights leave Luxor at 5:15am and arrive back in the UK at 9:10am. Flight duration is approximately five hours and twenty minutes, greatly improving accessibility to this ancient wonder.
EasyJet's return fares for this new route are competitive in 'Standard' class, which includes a small carry-on bag. Additional charges apply for carry-on and checked baggage. Tickets for this route can be booked from launch in November until March 2025.
In addition, EasyJet has announced over 41 new routes from UK airports to various holiday destinations this winter, including three entirely new routes. From 14 February 2025, the airline will also be offering flights to Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt. EasyJet now offers more seats from the UK to Egypt than any other airline, which is expected to reduce travel times for frequent travellers in the region.
