Suez Canal Aquaculture Company to establish more fisheries, cannery
Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority Osama Rabie inspected this week the Suez Canal Aquaculture Company as preparations are underway for the second phase that will consist of 112 fisheries.
The first phase is over with 472 fisheries where 18 million shrimp larvae had been farmed, and are expected to record 22 million later this month, as well as one million sea breams, 60,000 meagers and 40,000 basas.
Admiral Rabie's tour included the fish and shrimp cannery – that will start operation in August – as constructions are over and the equipment had been delivered. The decision to establish the plant is in the framework of fulfilling local need in reasonable prices, and competing in the global market.
