Cabinet Agrees to Install Smart Electric Meters for Violating Buildings

The Egyptian Cabinet ordered the electricity distribution companies to install a code electric meter for any facility or building that derives electricity illegally, regardless of its location.

The Cabinet said, in a statement Wednesday, that the decision of installing a code meter applies before legalizing the status of the violating building, in accordance with the Reconciliation Law, or implementing the removal of the violating building; whichever comes first.
