Sudan comes 1st among the top African countries, but on a global level, it has an average monthly internet cost of $2.40.

Africa's population is young, with some countries having more than 50 percent of their population under the age of 25. This creates tremendous potential for creativity, entrepreneurship, and social change.
The ranking is based on the global broadband pricing league by Cable.
It is worth noting that affordable broadband allows for a rapid adoption of technology.
In November 2023, Egypt took 77th place, with a speed of 94.53 megabytes per second rankings for fixed broadband internet speeds, according to the Speed Test Global Index for internet performance metrics.
The number of mobile subscriptions in Egypt increased by 6.1 million in 2023 compared with 2022 to reach 106.2 million, according to the quarterly report issued in March by the Egyptian Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.
The ministry report revealed an increase in the number of landline internet users by about 90,000 new subscribers, as the number of fixed internet users rose from 11.37 million subscribers in April to 11.46 million subscribers last May 2023.
