Black & Decker to establish first electrical equipment factory in Egypt
According to GAFI's statement, this significant investment would mark Black & Decker’s first major production facility outside the US and Europe, placing Egypt as a key hub for meeting local market demand and advancing its role as an export centre in the region.
Hossam Heiba, GAFI CEO, assured that all necessary investment facilities and incentives would be provided to accelerate the establishment and operation of the new industrial facility.
He further underscored the significant role this factory would play in transferring advanced technology, enhancing manufacturing capabilities within the Egyptian economy, and boosting economic growth.
Moreover, Heiba noted that GAFI would supply Black & Decker with comprehensive sectoral studies and information on the supplementary industries, in addition to details on trade agreements with target export markets.
For his part, Parmesh Venkateswaran, Black & Decker's General Manager for the Middle East and Africa, expressed confidence in Egypt’s investment environment and the high potential of its economy.
He recognized Egypt’s strategic importance as a manufacturing and export hub, shedding light on its trade and investment deals with key markets in the Middle East and Africa.
Venkateswaran noted that these deals are expected to facilitate the company’s distribution of various electrical equipment and home appliances across the region.
According to the statement, Black & Decker’s product line features a wide range of electrical tools as well as home appliances, which are essential for the rapidly growing construction sector in Egypt and surrounding regions.
These tools include cordless and electric drills, electric screwdrivers, circular saws, reciprocating saws, orbital sanders, belt sanders, angle grinders, electric hammers, high-pressure cleaners, and tile-cutting saws.
