Red Sea Airlines (4S, Cairo International) has entered into agreements to add two B737-800s, set to arrive in the first quarter of 2025, according to the company’s director of ground operations, Ahmed Mohamed El-Gendy.

In an interview with Arabian Aerospace, El-Gendy said the Egyptian carrier had seen substantial demand in the Central Asian and Eastern European markets it operates to - Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Armenia, Romania, and Moldova - and to keep up with the growth it had acquired the two narrowbodies. He did not disclose the serial numbers or registrations of either plane.

“Demand there is so high. Whenever I open a flight, tour operators from there book all the seats. Because we’re a low-cost carrier, we can give them a competitive price,” he said.

The ch-aviation fleets module shows Red Sea Airlines currently has two B737-800s in its fleet. Earlier this year, chairman Hatem Kenawy and chief executive Karim El-Meligy told ch-aviation the company was evaluating adding widebody aircraft by 2027, eyeing both A330-300 and B777-300 types.

The company was not immediately available for comment.
