In a statement, Egypt’s national-flag carrier explained that it has cancelled its flights from Cairo to Beirut on Wednesday.

These include flight number MS713, scheduled to take off at five am, as well as flight number MS709, scheduled to take off at 9:15 am on Wednesday until the situation in the country stabilizes.

It called on its customers traveling on these flights to review their reservations by contacting the EgyptAir call center.

War escalates

The Israeli army announced attacking 1,100 targets in Lebanon through 650 air sorties.

The Chief of Staff of the Israeli Army, Herzi Halevi, described the Israeli raids on Lebanon, which began on Monday morning, as a “preemptive offensive operation targeting the combat infrastructure,” expressing Tel Aviv’s readiness for the “next stages.”

“The army is dismantling Hezbollah’s capabilities that it has built up over 20 years, and this is very important,” Halevi said in an underground military command room.

“We are hitting targets and preparing for the next stages,” he continued, without giving further details, but added that he “will clarify soon.”

The Israeli army chief of staff stressed that the goal of the strikes carried out by Tel Aviv on the Lebanese Hezbollah group is to “create the conditions for the return of displaced residents in the north to their homes.”
