Egypt's Petroleum Min. Meets Macron on Sidelines of Francophonie Summit
Karim Badawi, the Egyptian Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, participated - on behalf of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi - in the opening of the 19th Francophonie Summit, which is being held in the French capital, Paris, on October 4-5.
The opening session of the summit was held under the chairmanship of French President Emmanuel Macron, the current president of the Francophonie Summit, and in the presence of a large number of heads of state and heads of government of the member states of the Francophonie Organization.
The Ministry of Petroleum explained in a statement, Friday, that the summit is being held this year under the slogan: "Creativity, Innovation and Entrepreneurship", in light of major geopolitical and economic challenges facing the global arena.
During their conversation at the opening session, French President Macron and the Secretary-General of the International Organization of La Francophonie, Louise Mushikiwabo, expressed their appreciation to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi for the Egyptian authorities’ completion of the construction of the new headquarters project for Senghor University to serve development in Africa in Borg El Arab City.
