Egyptian Culture Minister Ahmed Fouad Hano announced on Monday that all art and national museums, theaters and the National Circus will be open to the public for free, in addition to a 50 percent discount on the ministry’s publications on Sunday, October 6 – the 51st anniversary of Egypt’s historic victory.

Among the museums that will be opened to the public for free are the Mahmoud Mukhtar Museum, the Taha Hussein Museum, the Ahmed Shawky Museum, the Mansoura National Museum, the Port Said Museum, the Mahmoud Said Museum Center in Alexandria, and the Museum of Fine Arts.

“The glorious October victories represent a milestone in Egypt’s history,” the minister said.

He pointed out that this initiative comes from the ministry’s desire to encourage national unity and pride, provide an opportunity for all segments of society to learn about the Egyptian cultural and artistic heritage, and to celebrate a milestone national anniversary.

Hano stated that his ministry always seeks to encourage the spread of culture and national awareness by making the various services offered by the ministry’s various sectors available to everyone, as part of its role in building generations.
