Turkish brand Jeans attracts admiration worldwide with ‘Made in Egypt’ label
Ambassador Şen noted that the factory employs approximately 1,500 Egyptian workers, technicians, engineers, and managers, producing 2.5 million pieces of jeans annually.
"The factory produces jeans for the Turkish national brand Jeans and other world-famous luxury jeans brands,” he added.
Akay factory was established in 2007 in Port Said with investments of $35 million, all with Turkish capital. It also plans to increase its capacity with an additional investment of about $15 million.
The ambassador highlighted that jeans fabric producers in Egypt provide a large part of the country's total jeans production. Not only do they provide fabric to jeans manufacturers in Egypt, but they also export fabric to the whole world.
Şen added that Akay Textiles Company directs almost all of its production to exports, stressing that the cooperation of Turkish companies with Egypt in the field of textiles through exports will grow increasingly in the future.
Ambassador Şen explained that this relationship is based on a win-win approach for both parties, adding that the Turkish brand Jeans has attracted admiration worldwide with the "Made in Egypt" label.
