Town Gas and Banque Misr Collaborate to Streamline Gas Payment Services
The Egyptian Company for Natural Gas Distribution to Cities (Town Gas) has signed two key protocols aimed at easing payment methods for gas delivery, aligning with the government’s broader energy strategy.
The first protocol, signed with Banque Misr, allows customers to pay for gas delivery in installments, easing the financial burden on households and businesses. In a related move, Town Gas inked a second protocol with Souhoola, Banque Misr’s fintech subsidiary, enabling customers to make installment payments through the Souhoola app, broadening access to digital payment solutions.
These initiatives are part of the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources’ broader effort to modernize and streamline Egypt’s natural gas sector, making services more accessible.
The Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS), which oversees the natural gas market, has been pushing for customer-friendly measures to facilitate contracting and payment processes, aiming to increase the penetration of natural gas in urban and rural areas alike.
This push aligns with the country’s goal to expand natural gas distribution as part of its energy transition strategy and reduce dependence on more expensive or polluting fuel sources.
Town Gas, one of the companies in the sector, that plays a key role in extending gas distribution networks across Egypt, especially to cities and residential areas.
Through these partnerships with financial institutions, Town Gas aims to provide flexible payment options that promote wider adoption of natural gas in homes and businesses, contributing to the government’s vision of expanding cleaner energy resources nationwide.
