Egypt increases cigarette prices

The Eastern Company in Egypt approved in its meeting on Tuesday, the new cigarette price list for all the company’s products of Cleopatra cigarettes and other brands, in accordance with the provisions of the Value Added Tax Law No. 177 of 2013.

The value of the new increase ranges from LE 4.25 to five LE per pack according to the brand.

The amendments included expanding the taxable cigarette price brackets by increasing the maximum price bracket of the pack by 12 percent annually for five years.
