Saudi Arabia Eyes Mining Opportunities in Egypt
During his participation in BEBA, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi met with Khalid Al-Mudaifer, the Vice-Minister for Mining Affairs of Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources and the CEO of Maaden Company. The Saudi side expressed a strong interest in establishing a partnership with Egypt in the mining sector.
They also discussed ways to enhance cooperation in this field. In response, Badawi highlighted the ongoing development efforts within the Egyptian mining sector and the initiatives aimed at creating an attractive investment climate.
Additionally, Al-Mudaiferd invited the Egyptian Minister to participate in the International Mining Conference which will be held in Riyadh from 16 to 17 January and take part as a speaker in the ministerial session which will focus on several topics that can foster the regional and international cooperation in mining.
This step comes as a continuation of the close relations between Egypt and Saudi Arabia, and the ongoing cooperation to drive development in the mining sector in a way that contributes to maximizing the added value of natural resources and achieving the common interests of the two brotherly countries.
