Egypt launches voluntary peer review report on competition law
Egypt's Minister of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation, Rania A. Al-Mashat, participated in the launch event for the Voluntary Peer Review Report of Egypt’s Competition Law.
The event, organized by the Egyptian Competition Authority in collaboration with the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), took place under the auspices of Prime Minister, Mostafa Madbouly.
During her speech, Al-Mashat emphasized the Egyptian government’s commitment to boosting competitiveness and creating an investment-friendly environment.
She highlighted the importance of transparent governance and accountability, which are central to the government’s efforts to attract sustainable investments and empower the private sector.
The event, attended by key officials and stakeholders, underscored the need for fostering public-private partnerships to drive economic growth.
Al-Mashat discussed the 2022 amendments to Egypt’s Competition Protection and Anti-Monopoly Law, stressing its role in safeguarding market competition, reducing monopolistic practices, and promoting free economic activity.
