TUIfly Belgium’s new nonstop flight route promotes travel to Egypt
TUIfly Belgium has announced updates to its 2025 summer schedule, which include significant changes to operations between Ostend and Egypt . From 5 April 2025, the airline will offer a non-stop service between Ostend and Hurghada, replacing the previous triangle route that included Sharm El-Sheikh. The optimised route reflects TUIfly Belgium's strategy to optimise efficiency and meet the increasing demand for direct flights to key destinations.
New nonstop flights Ostend-Hurghada
The newly introduced non-stop service Ostend-Hurghada is scheduled to operate once a week, with the first flight departing on April 5, 2025. Initially, Boeing 737-800 aircraft will be used on the route, before switching to the more modern Boeing 737 MAX 8 from May 2024. This change underlines the airline's commitment to improving the passenger experience with modernized fleets.
Flight schedule:
- TB3027 OST1310 – 1935HRG (Departure Ostend at 13:10, arrival in Hurghada at 19:35)
- TB3028 HRG2000 – 0055+1OST (departure from Hurghada at 20:00, arrival in Ostend the following day at 00:55)

Changes to the Sharm El-Sheikh service
With the new flight schedule, TUIfly Belgium will discontinue the direct flight between Ostend and Sharm El Sheikh. The previous triangular connection that connected Ostend, Sharm El Sheikh and Hurghada will be completely replaced by the non-stop flights Ostend-Hurghada. Travelers looking for connections to Sharm El Sheikh must consider alternative routes operated by the airline or other airlines.
Improved travel experience with the 737 MAX 8
The introduction of the Boeing 737 MAX 8 on this route underlines TUIfly Belgium's commitment to providing a first-class travel experience. The 737 MAX 8 offers higher fuel consumption, lower environmental impact and enhanced passenger comfort features, making it the ideal choice for leisure travelers travelling to Hurghada, a popular destination on Egypt's Red Sea coast.

Strategic adjustments for growth
TUIfly Belgium's decision to simplify its Egypt routes is in line with wider industry trends aimed at streamlining operations and maximising profitability. By focusing on non-stop flights to high-demand destinations such as Hurghada, the airline aims to improve its reliability and attract more travellers. These changes reflect the changing preferences of leisure travellers, who are increasingly looking for direct connections and modern aircraft for their holiday trips.
Looking Ahead
As TUIfly Belgium prepares for the 2025 summer season, the redesigned Ostend-Hurghada route shows that the airline wants to adapt its offer to the needs of its passengers. By discontinuing the triangular route and introducing state-of-the-art aircraft, the airline aims to strengthen its presence in the competitive leisure travel market.
For travellers seeking seamless and convenient access to Egypt's famous Red Sea resorts, TUIfly Belgium's new offerings next year provide an exciting opportunity to enjoy even greater travel convenience. The non-stop flights are a significant step forward in the airline's strategy to offer high-quality, customer-focused services.
